The Way & St Jean Pied de Port

The small village of Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port is a major stop on the Saint James Way. Indeed, with 200 to 400 pilgrims crossing it daily, it is the last stop where pilgrims can receive their credential before crossing the Pyrenees and the French-Spanish border. Hiking gear shops, Basque souvenir shops, fast food outlets, traditional restaurants, grocery stores, luggage and passenger transport services, pilgrim accommodation, public drinking water, and a church open all day… everything is provided in Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port to ensure that pilgrims and hikers find what they need to enhance and enjoy their stopover.
